He Is Leading Me – Sermon Video
Psalm 23 New International Version (NIV)
A psalm of David.
1
The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
2
He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,
3
he refreshes my soul.
He guides me along the right paths
for his name’s sake.
4
Even though I walk
through the darkest valley,[a]
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.
5
You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
6
Surely your goodness and love will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord
forever.

Daily Prayer Request – Wednesday, July 5, 2017
Pray for the courage to let God use us as part of His answer. Obedience to the nudging of the Spirit is sometimes costly. God has proved Himself trustworthy, but still expects us to step out. Pray for the courage to obey even when we are terrified.

WORDS OF THANKS
A huge thank you to Shelley Hallberg who, over the years, has volunteered countless hours to making our sanctuary and foyer beautiful. With her keen eye for colour and aesthetics, she always made sure HMC looked its best! After serving as our decorator for a very long time, Shelley is stepping down from this ministry and we release her with many thanks, trusting a new creative person will step into her place. If you’re interested in taking on this role, please connect with the church office.
Thank you to Bill and Carolyn Pearson who blessed the staff with a home-cooked meal on Wednesday! Your gift was much appreciated and enjoyed!

Consider fasting in a broader context than just food. The discipline of saying NO for a short time to something we cling to makes saying NO to other things easier. Think of coffee, chocolate, TV, computers, iPhones. If you have never fasted before, try a 12 hour fast initially. Spend a moment or two in prayer each time the craving pulls. Although it is ideally a private decision between you and God, challenging one to two others to team up with you for the same time period can be helpful.
