Pray that we would hunger and thirst for the things of God – for righteousness. Pray that God would confront our complacency and somehow stir and intense desire in us to draw closer to Him.

“When I shut up the heavens so there there is no rain, or command locusts to devour the land or send a plague among my people, if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land…but if you turn away…then I will uproot.”

Pray for Support Ministries, that God-gifted volunteers would take up the torch. Pray that we, as a church, would be attentive to the needs in our community as well as in our church family.

Pray for Good to prevail over Evil. Pray for protection for our HMC church body from the attacks of the enemy. Help us be as wise as serpents and as innocent as doves as we deal with the wolves around us. Show us how to test every spirit to see if it is from God. Help us recognize the enemy’s disguises and schemes so that he won’t outwit us.

Pray for our Young at Heart leaders and members. Pray that we would be wise enough to tap into their wisdom and that they would be encouraged to share. Pray that whether strong and active or increasingly frail, their lives would be a testimony of the faithfulness of God. Pray for the measureless honour that one of them would take up the challenge of praying by name for you on a regular basis. Pray that we would find ways to express our respect and our love to them.

Pray for Pastor Jason & Erika, Shawna and Elijah as they move into a new chapter of life. Thank God for Jason’s educational opportunities. Pray for a ministry placement for Erika. Pray for wisdom as they consider questions of moving or staying, where they will worship as a family, and schooling for the kids.

Pray for the courage to surrender our will to God for ourselves and our church. We live in a very independent culture. Surrender, even to God, feels foreign to us.

Pray to increase our desire to seek God and come together as a church body, to turn from any wicked ways and honestly and passionately seek God. Pray that there would be a renewed hunger to study the Bible and seek Him in prayer.

Pray for our Young Adults and Young Families. Pray for purity in a world that promotes sex without boundaries. Pray for the strength and courage to hang on during tough times in their marriages. Pray for wisdom as they enter the world of parenting.

Pray for our Children & Youth, that the little ones remain humble examples of what we adults need to become in the kingdom. Let their conduct always be pure and right with reputation that show that they remember their Creator God. Teach them to declare God’s marvellous deeds. Pray that they flee evil desire and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace.
