HMC EVENTS

DISCOVERY: Find Your Gifts is a weekend training session with Pastor Dave & Heather Bender, designed to help you understand your spiritual gifts. May 25 (7-9) & 26 (10-3). A catered lunch will be provided. Please sign up on the reception desk in the foyer.

Are you new to our congregation or returning & want to get reacquainted? Come hang out with Gord & Ellie Cox in the upper room on Sunday mornings from 9-9:45 on May 27, June 3, & June 10. Please sign up today!

Young at Heart will be a week earlier in June. Tickets for the June 7 Variety Show & Luncheon will be available next week.

Town Hall Budget Meeting & Potluck On June 10 we will enjoy a potluck lunch together in the gym followed by a budget meeting. We’ll vote on our proposed budget for the coming year and hear some updates from Pastor Dave and Ministry Council. All are welcome & encouraged to attend.

Let’s spark some conversation and add s’more fun to our calendar by bringing back our summer bonfires! Beginning in June, we will be inviting you to sign up as a host for a Sunday evening in July or August.

PRAYER REQUESTS

Please pray for those in our congregation facing various health concerns. Pray for their families and the medical professionals that are providing care.

Please pray for Marilyn Spencer as she recovered from surgery.

Carrick Camp is gearing up for their 132nd year! Grab a flyer from the info table in the rack across from the admin office.

The Paisley Concert Choir is comprised of singers from all over Grey and Bruce Counties and will perform “United in Song”, an eclectic mix of traditional, sacred, and contemporary music in Hanover on Saturday, May 26 at 7:30 p.m. at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church. $15 tickets are available from choir members (Anna Smith, 364-4100) or at the door before the concert. Children 18 and under are free.

Summer Slam brings kids together for a whole week to learn, grow, and play. Mark the mornings of August 13-17 on your calendar and plan to sign your children/grandchildren/neighbours (ages 5-12)

Party in the Park Join us in the Hanover Park on Sunday September 16 at 10:00 for a service and BBQ lunch.

Daily Prayer Request – May 18, 2018

Pray for our office staff. They are front and centre when people come into the church with special needs, or when any of us are upset about something church related. Pray for a gentle spirit when people complain to them about issues they cannot control. Pray for a spirit of unity between them and our Pastors, Ministry Council, and other ministries of our church.

Daily Prayer Request – Monday, May 14, 2018

Pray for our Ministry Council. Ask God to give them wisdom as they make decisions for HMC. Pray that they be Spirit-led and filled with the knowledge of God. Pray that they be careful and prayerful listeners. Pray that they live lives of integrity among the church body and also among the wider community. Pray for opportunities to encourage and bless them and their families. Pray for frequent times of refreshment and renewal for them.

Let’s celebrate the mother’s and women in our congregation with Building Connections. Stick around after the service for a time of sweets and connection. Thanks to everyone who brought cake!

There will be a Ladies Social on Wednesday, May 16 at 6:30 p.m. Gather in the kitchen to make some treats for Father’s Day. Please bring a couple of dollars to go towards ingredients.

THE BRAGG’S BUS MINISTRY

Thanks to your generosity at our Easter Breakfast last month, we are able to send $1391 to the Saugeen First Nation in support of the Bragg’s Bus Ministry. This money will help Stan get kids to the midweek program where they are able to learn about God’s love for them.

Daily Prayer Request – Friday, May 11, 2018

Pray for our Pastors, that they be Godly leaders. Pray that their leadership holds fast to the Bible as the source of truth. Pray that they be Spirit-led. Ask for protection for each one of them and their families. Pray for their physical well being and that their financial needs would be met. Pray that they will hold onto their joy in spite of everything they have to deal with in ministry. Pray that they will have the wisdom for the various situations they face. Pray that our pastors will find the time and space to stay refreshed, restored, recharged, rested, renewed, and rejuvenated.
