Daily Prayer Request – Friday, June 29, 2018

Pray for our staff team as they each take some time throughout the summer to rest and regroup. Pray that their holidays would be peaceful and rejuvenating and that they would return to work refreshed and ready to take on a new ministry season.

As we enter into the summer months, we will not be posting daily prayer requests, but please continue to remember the needs of our church family in your prayers.

Daily Prayer Request – Thursday, June 28, 2018

Pray for our finances, that giving would be faithful, as well as joyful, consistent, and sacrificial, and that our monthly needs be met. Pray that the Holy Spirit would keep reminding us of God’s promise to throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out blessing on all who bring the whole tithe into His house.

Moving Forward: God’s Great Plans For Us
102 – Are Your Oars In The Water?
Romans 12:3-8
June 24th, 2018

Key Idea:

God asks all of us to get into the boat and start paddling.

Romans 12:3-8

1) Do what God has called you to do.

There is no room for pride (12:3)
Your role may be different, but is equally important (12:4-8)

2) Find your gift, ability, and calling, and serve in it.

God has designed you to serve, for such a time as this. (Esther 4:14)

Romans 12:3-8 New International Version (NIV)

Humble Service in the Body of Christ

For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you. For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your[a] faith; if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead,[b] do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully.

HMC EVENTS

Thanks to everyone who has volunteered their yard for a Sunday evening bonfire this summer! We have only one date left if you’re still hoping to host. Let us know if you can take on Sunday, July 22. See the form on the reception desk to sign up.

Our first summer bonfire will be at Hidden Valley Christian Camp in Paisley on Sunday, July 8. Bill Kranenburg has invited everyone to come out at 4:00 p.m. to swim and tube in the river and use a slip & slide. He will provide a BBQ supper. Campfire to follow at 6:30. Donations will be collected which will go towards the Bragg’s ministry.

Prayer Night Please join us on Sunday, July 15 at 6:30 for an evening of prayer.

Summer Slam brings kids together for a whole week to learn, grow, and play. Mark the mornings of August 13-17 on your calendar and plan to sign up your children/grandchildren/neighbours (ages 5-12). Grab a form outside the admin centre or fill it out online. Are you willing to volunteer? Please come to A/B for a brief info session after the service today.

You’re invited to a BBQ lunch following the service on Sunday, July 29. Hamburgers, hotdogs, and drinks will be provided. Please bring along a salad or dessert to share. We are looking for some volunteers and organizers for this event. Please talk to Pastor Dave or to the office if you’re willing and available.

PRAYER REQUESTS

Our Condolences to Joanne Koeslag and Marie & Klaus Inthof on the passing of their sister-in-law, Bertha Koeslag, on June 18. Please remember the family in your prayers as they grieve.

Please continue to pray for those members of our congregation who are facing various health concerns. Pray for the doctors that are overseeing their care, and the family members that are offering support during this time.

CONGRATULATIONS

Congratulations to David and Amber Grundy who welcomed a new baby boy, Hunter Albert, last week – another grandchild for Derek and Laurie Grundy!

WORDS OF THANKS

Thank you to all the wonderful volunteers who participated in “Forced to Flee” on June 15. Your creative roleplaying made the event come to life for the youth and we pray that it will encourage them to seek ways to share the love of Jesus with those in need.

OPPORTUNITIES

The U18 Ministry needs your help on Sunday mornings in the summer! Consider grabbing a partner and signing up to teach one Sunday on a fruit of the spirit. Pick a date, choose a ‘fruit’, and sign up at the reception desk.

PLEASE NOTE

The soup label program has been discontinued and we are no longer collecting your labels. We will still take receipts from Grant’s and used glasses. These can be deposited in the mailboxes directly across from the Admin Centre.

Daily Prayer Request – Friday, June 22, 2018

Pray for our Worship Teams. Pray for inspiration among music leaders that would help us prepare our hearts for worship. Pray that we would enter into song and worship, would consider the message, and would exalt our great God. Pray for more God-gifted volunteers who would lead in praise and worship and walk faithfully before the Lord.

Daily Prayer Request – Thursday, June 21, 2018

Pray for Men in Action. Pray that this ministry will build our men in their faith. Pray that they will be in right relationship with God and each other. Pray for men to love their wives as Christ loved the church, and to instruct their children with patience. Pray that they would hold each other accountable and support and encourage each other.

Daily Prayer Request – Wednesday, June 20, 2018

Pray for our Seniors. Thank God for every gray hair attained by righteous living. Pray that they be willing and Godly mentors, so that all can be blessed by their Christian example and ability to train us. Help us to be humbly submissive as we benefit from their wisdom and understanding. Pray that they receive the strength and power God promised to the weary and weak. Pray that they will put their hope in the Lord and be renewed in the process.
