HMC EVENTS

The Ladies Social is going to get you up and moving with Holly DeVisser on Tuesday, March 12 at 7:00 p.m.

The Young at Heart will gather again on Thursday, March 14 at 11:00 a.m. Diane Eaton, Musician and professional declutterer will provide entertainment. Tickets for the $17 luncheon are available in the foyer today.

Jr & Sr Youth March Break Event. Bring your friends and your nerf guns on Friday, March 15 for a Mission Impossible Marathon from 5:00-11:00 p.m. Pizza and snacks will be provided.

Our 2nd Annual HMC Chilli Cook-Off is on Sunday, March 17. Bring along a pot of chilli to share and we’ll enjoy lunch together in the gym. If you want your chilli to compete sign up at the Welcome Centre today. Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place the next Sunday morning.

OTHER EVENTS

Community Lenten Lunches & Services are being hosted on Wednesdays at 12 noon at St. Matthews Lutheran Church beginning on March 13. Everyone is welcome. A freewill offering will be collected.

KEEPING YOU IN THE LOOP

Please join with us every Monday to pray. Set your alarms to 5:14 a.m. or p.m. each Monday and let’s come together to pray for our church, our vision, and our leadership.

Join the HMC Bible Book Club! In an effort to encourage daily interaction with the scriptures we’ve started a Facebook group where we hope you will go to find motivation to do daily devotions, as well as opportunity to contribute to discussions about what you’re currently reading, and what has challenged you. Pastor Dave has committed to post to this group at least once a week and some good discussion is already happening. Please consider joining! Go to https://www.facebook.com/groups/HMCBBC/ to join.

PRAYER REQUESTS

We are hiring a new part-time pastor. Please be praying for the team responsible for going through applications. Pray for wisdom and discernment as they listen to God’s direction.

Warming Centre. Please continue to pray for our HMC Warming Centre which will be open every Thursday from noon to 2 p.m. Pray for our visitors and volunteers as we work together to build a welcoming place full of trust and hope.

OPPORTUNITIES

Rocky Mountain College is offering a FREE introduction to the Bible course. The BBL100 course is designed to help you explore your faith more and understand the background and inspiration of the Bible, its history and composition, the overarching themes and message. Learn more and sign up by going to rockymountaincollege.ca. Select ‘Courses’ ➙ ‘Introduction to the Bible for FREE’.

Contribute to the HMC Warming Centre Pantry! Drop off canned or dried goods to the box outside the main office and it will be distributed to those who need it during our Thursday Warming Centre.

MISSIONS

The Beals family is going on a short-term mission trip to Puerto Maldonado, Peru. Lisa, Mike, Alan, and Sam will be leaving on March 28 and spending eleven days helping the people of Peru. Their main purpose is to help lead a VBS program.

WAYS YOU CAN BLESS THEM ON THIS MISSION:

  • Please pray for the family as they travel and spread God’s love to the people of Peru
  • Help them collect the school supplies they need to help with the VBS program (see below)
  • Offer financial support.

  • 3 packs of construction paper
  • 3 containers of white glue
  • hair accessories for girls
  • hot wheel cars for boys
