HMC EVENTS

Pastor Amos has completed the necessary steps and is being ordained today! Help us continue the celebration by joining us in the gym for lunch following the service.

Plan to Protect is a mandatory training session for all volunteers in U18 ministries and those working with vulnerable people. Four dates are being offered—Wednesday, November 22 (6:30 p.m.), Saturday, November 25 (9:00 a.m.), Monday, November 27 (7:00 p.m.), or Thursday, November 30 (7:00 p.m.). Volunteers need only attend one session. Please sign up for the date that best suits you at the table in the foyer.

Men, you are invited to join the Men in Action for their monthly breakfast on Saturday, November 25 at 8:00 a.m. Following breakfast there will be an introductory presentation by Mark Webb of a five week series he will be leading called, Guard Rails.

PRAYER REQUESTS

Please pray for Pastor Dave and Shannon Hildebrandt and their three boys, Josh, Andrew, & Caleb as they prepare for their move to Hanover at the beginning of December. Pray that their transition would be smooth and that the boys settle well into their new school. Pray for Dave as he prepares to take over the leadership of HMC, and for Shannon, that God would make clear what his plans are for her.

Please pray for Alan McDougall who is in Peru on a short term mission trip. Pray for continued, safety and good health for the team while they are there, that God would use them mightily to share His life-changing message with the people of Peru, and for travelling mercies when they return home on November 21.

Please pray for Keith McDougall as he faces some health concerns.

Please pray for Judy Dietz who is recovering from a hip replacement.

Please remember Dianne Dippel in your prayers as she continues to face some health concerns.

Please pray for Jim Cann who is fighting aggressive cancer. Pray for his wife, Marg, as she journeys through this time with him.

There is a list of prayer requests specific to the needs of HMC available on our website, or by speaking with Karen Schmalz or Brian Austin. Alternatively, if you’d like to receive daily prayer reminders delivered to your email, you can sign up at eepurl.com/cM9ZVj

OPPORTUNITIES

The U18 Crew and the Missions Planning Team are inviting the whole congregation to participate in their Christmas Basket Extravaganza! Consider donating some items for gift baskets that will be delivered to the people of Saugeen First Nation Reserve near Southamption, where our missionaries, Stan & Sally Bragg, are running an important ministry. See the sheets in the foyer and sign up to bring crackers, nuts, clementines, or Babybel cheese, and stay tuned for more ways you can get involved during December.

We want to bless Pastor Dave and his family as they settle into their new life in Hanover. Beginning next week, there will be a collection box in the foyer where you can drop off local gift cards and certificates to bless the family. Considers things like restaurants, grocery stores, gas cards, etc. The box will remain available until December 17.

WORDS OF THANKS

Thank you to everyone who took the time to put together an Operation Christmas Child shoebox! Because of your generosity, children around the world are able to experience the joy and wonder of the love of Jesus. Over 100 boxes were donated!
The Local OCC Team sent the following note:

Hanover Missionary Church, Thank you very much for packing shoeboxes for the less fortunate children in the world. It can make such a difference in their lives. Thanks again, and my God Bless You.

—Anne Hahn, Joel & Rose Cote, Susan Sakal, and Sharon Hoffarth

OTHER EVENTS

The EFC has declared Sunday, November 26 as a day of prayer for religious freedom. Please click here to learn more about this important initiative.

ECO-CREATING THE FUTURE OF THE EMCC

EMCC President, Rev. Kervin Raugust is inviting all members and adherents of EMCC Churches across Canada to join in an exercise to co-discover, co-dream, and co-design the future God has in mind for our denomination. A survey has been developed as a convenient way for you to provide insight into where we as a family of churches and where God is calling us to go. Please consider taking a few minutes to complete the survey. There are paper copies available in the foyer on the information table, or you can access it online at emccsurvey.ca

MISSIONARY OF THE MONTH

Mike & Sarah Wilson, serving with Youth for Christ in Quinte, Ontario
Please pray that they are able to find a good balance between ministry and family. Pray for the students they have contact with, that good relationships would be built and maintained as they show the love of Jesus to the youth of Quinte.

Other Things of Note

Save your receipts & stamps! Drop off your grocery tapes from Grants Independent in the box near the coatrack in front of the main office. Tapes will be tallied throughout the year and all funds will go towards missions: sending children to EMCC camps. Stamps are collected and given to the Canadian Bible Society or Salvage Missions. Over time, this raises a lot of money for missions!

Please note: The fall bookmark containing the Young at Heart schedule stated that December’s meeting is on a Wednesday. This was a mistake, and should have said Thursday, December 14. We apologize for any inconvenience.
