HMC EVENTS

Sacred Rhythms is back for another season! Pastor Lyndsay will be offering this G2G group study on spiritual disciplines on Mondays, beginning on November 6. Come for either 1:00 p.m. or 6:30 p.m. for these one hour sessions.

The Young at Heart will gather again on Thursday, November 9 with a special guest representative from the Genealogical Society. Nelles will be in the foyer with tickets for the hot luncheon. $16 per plate.

The Ladies Social team invites all women to come out on Wednesday, November 15 from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. as Karen Winkels and Angie Bechtel offer fun instructions for the creation of a Christmas card and gift tag, followed by refreshments and a social time.

Our AGM will take place on Thursday, November 16 at 7:00 p.m. All members and non members are encouraged to attend. Report booklets are available in the foyer today.

Pastor Amos has completed the necessary steps and is approved for Ordination! Help us celebrate with him during our service on Sunday, November 19. Regional Ministry John Cressman will be officially recognizing Amos as an ordained EMCC minister that morning, and following the service we will join together in the gym for a Building Connections potluck lunch to continue the celebration.

LEAD PASTOR UPDATE

We are excited that Pastor Dave Hildebrandt has accepted the call to the position of Lead Pastor for HMC. Dave will begin his ministry here on January 1, 2018. Please pray for him, his wife Shannon, and their three boys, Josh, Andrew, & Caleb, as they transition from their home and ministry in Port Rowan. Click here for more details.

OTHER EVENTS

The Annual YFC Banquet is on Saturday, November 11 at 6:00 p.m. at St. Matthews Lutheran Church. (Doors open at 4:30 p.m.) Consider purchasing a $25 ticket, or book an entire table for $200, and support this important community ministry. PRAYER REQUESTS

Please pray for Judy Dietz who is in Walkerton Hospital recovering from a hip replacement.
Please remember Dianne Dippel in your prayers as she continues to face some health concerns.
Please pray for Jim Cann who is fighting aggressive cancer. Pray for his wife, Marg, as she journeys through this time with him.

There is a list of prayer requests specific to the needs of HMC available on our website, or by speaking with Karen Schmalz or Brian Austin. Alternatively, if you’d like to receive daily prayer reminders delivered to your email, you can sign up at eepurl.com/cM9ZVj

OPPORTUNITIES

It’s Operation Christmas Child time! Boxes are available today and must be returned by November 12. Start filling your shoeboxes now! For suggestions, pick up an information sheet at the reception desk.

Are you interested in taking a trip to Guelph to help pack boxes at the Operation Christmas Child Warehouse later in November? Please speak to Pastor Lyndsay no later than Wednesday, November 8 so she can make arrangements.

Save your receipts & stamps! Drop off your grocery tapes from Grants Independent in the box near the coat rack in front of the main office. Tapes will be tallied throughout the year and all funds will go towards missions: sending children to EMCC camps. Stamps are collected and given to the Canadian Bible Society or Salvage Missions. Over time, this raises a lot of money for missions!

Reminder: some people in our congregation are very sensitive to scent. Please refrain from using perfume when you join us for worship.

Consider signing up for pre-authorized giving. Forms are available in the foyer and online.

Keep informed about all U18 events and updates with the Remind App. It will keep you in the loop regarding events, deadlines, cancelations, and anything else you need to know as a parent, guardian, or a youth. Ask Pastor Amos, Marie, or Melissa how to get connected.
